What is Starphone? 

History

Starphone is a branch of CTC Trading, a Brazil-based company in the electronics business since 1984 with an extended wholesale distribution arm in South America and Central Africa. Headquartered in Dubai, Starphone is a rapidly growing consumer electronics distributor with the aim of “bringing the latest in technological innovation to the consumers’ hands”. In January 2007, Starphone acquired the Master Franchise of South Korean mobile phones branded “WND” in the Middle East and Africa (MEA region).

Recognizing that each customer is unique and offers up a different set of challenges, WND Telecom blends innovation, manufacturing skill and technical know-how acquired over years of tradition and commitment to create unprecedented mobile solutions. From the Duo 2000 onwards, WND Telecom continues to meet and exceed the ever-changing technological needs of the mobile business, redefining the industry's vision of where technology will take us in the future.

Our Mission

Starphone has for aim to develop “WND” to become one of the renowned mobile phones in the MEA region always bringing new and innovative ideas that can set WND apart in a very competitive sector. This can be made possible by meeting unmet customer needs and through a concentrated branding campaign which will focus on quality and create awareness of “WND” unique and innovative offerings.

Future Goals

Launch of "WND" product Wind Duo 2200 in November 2007

Establishment of “WND” kiosks in the top 6 malls across the United Arab Emirates by December 2008

Strategic partnerships with top mobile phone distributors in the region whereas "WND" products will be present in their respective shops/kiosks in the United Arab Emirates

Regional rapid expansion through Starphone’s physical presence or strategic partnerships with pre-established players / distributors in the market
