History
Starphone (UAE) is a branch of CTC Trading,
a Brazil-based company in the electronics
business
since 1984 with an extended wholesale distribution arm in South America and
Central Africa.
In 1999, CTC Trading opened a branch in Long Beach California, USA under the name
of Starfone.
Starfone is a leading provider of value added Domestic and International
Long Distance Telecommunication Services. Starfone allows residential users, business
associates and Agents global access to over 300 Countries through a reliable and
high quality network.
In April 2007, CTC Trading launched Starphone (UAE). Headquartered in Dubai, Starphone is a rapidly growing consumer
electronics retailer & distributor with the aim of “bringing the latest in technological
innovation to the consumers’ hands”.
In May 2007, Starphone acquired the Master Franchise of South Korean mobile phones branded WND Telecom
in the Middle East and Africa (MEA region).
WND Telecom is a pioneer in creating life-enhancing mobile phone solutions and technologies
that cater to the increasingly sophisticated needs of mobile users around the world.
Recognizing that each customer is unique and offers up a different set of challenges,

From the Duo 2000 onwards, WND Telecom continues to meet and exceed the ever-changing

In March 2008, in collaboration with leading designers and manufacturers in Hong
Kong and Taiwan, Starphone launched the “aXena” brand. Axena is a provider of lifestyle
technology products including USB flash drives, memory cards, earphones, Bluetooth
headsets, MP3 players, digital photo frames, mice, USB hubs, multi-card readers,
web cameras and speakers.
In December 2008, Starphone ventured into the Blackberry business. With innovation
at the core of its strategies, Starphone aims to become the #1 supplier of devices
in the region!
In April 2009, Starphone acquired the exclusive distribution rights for the Case-Mate
brand for the Middle East & Africa region. Case-Mate was born in December 2005,
with a simple goal in mind: to make protective, stylish and affordable cases for
the technological tools which we use every day. Led by a group of engineers who
happen to be passionate about the latest gadgets on the market, Case-Mate aims to
create better, less expensive case.
In September 2009, Starphone acquired the exclusive distribution
of Headphonies
in the Middle East & Africa. Headphonies is
a product created by Mobi Technologies, a company built on fundamental beliefs that
consumer electronics and accessories should be designed around the needs and requirements
of the individual user. Headphonies are designer micro speakers featuring thematic
characters each with a unique attitude and personality, but they all pump out the
same amazing audio. Headphonies… smallest speakers, biggest attitude!
In November 2009, Starphone is appointed as a Blackberry Accessories
sub-distributor in the Middle East. This appointment complemented Starphone’s line
of business within the Blackberry sector giving it additional strength and access
to better priced products, which in turn, Starphone will be able to offer its major
clients.
